Description
Hardcore isn't about how fast a band plays; it's about anger. While the San Francisco-based Pills aren’t playing at Minor Threat tempos, they are certainly pissed. Pills combine frantic punk ferocity with chunkier metal influences--like deeper guitar tones and syncopated riffs, as well as some low-end growling from Pills' singer, who sometimes recalls Dicky Barrett of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones with his full-body roar, which is clearly propelled by years of pent-up frustration. The band is composed of ex-members from Funeral Diner, Burial Year and Threatener. (AC)
