Celebrate the season with the sweet sounds of children singing—the top choirs of the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir dazzle by candlelight! This internationally-acclaimed organization has been offering an outstanding program of choral training and performance since 1982, winning top prizes at prestigious festivals across the world, collaborating with major arts institutions, and offering lessons in creativity, expression, poise and engagement with many cultures. The Choir will present Merrily on High, a Candlelight Concert featuring the most advanced singers. Audiences will be dazzled by the high artistic standards, the panache and finesse of these young artists. In this the 30th Anniversary year of the Choir, Merrily on High will feature music commissioned by the Choir over the years, including wonderful carol and folksong arrangements by Eric Tuan, the World Premiere of Mark Winges’ pool is to wade, and Pekka Kostianen’s The cold told a tale to me. Holiday favorites round out the evening.
