Description
Macro photography is much more than taking close-up pictures. Macro work allows the engaged photographer to use depth of field, focal points, and unique compositions with shape and color to create artful images. In this daylong workshop with well-known garden photographer Saxon Holt, you will start the day with your camera in a working lesson on macro photography, shooting the famed Dahlia Garden and Arizona Garden adjacent to the Conservatory. Following a presentation on garden photography and an in-depth critique of each participant's morning work, you will put the day's instruction into practice inside the Conservatory under Holt's expert guidance.
Saxon Holt is an award winning photographer of twenty garden books and owner of PhotoBotanic, a resource for garden photography, as well as a member of the Conservatory of Flowers' Advisory Council.
Please bring: A digital camera that has manual controls and a dedicated macro lens; a laptop computer. A tripod and small fold up reflector disc are strongly encouraged.
