The Philharmonic Orchestra Performs Smetana, Suk and Brahms

The San Jose Youth Symphony’s Philharmonic Orchestra, under the artistic leadership of Music Director and Conductor Yair Samet, presents its 2018 Season Finale Concert to be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 4:00 pm at the California Theatre, 345 S. 1st Street, San Jose, CA 95113.

The program will open with Smetana’s The Moldau and will conclude with Brahms’s Symphony No. 1, which, with its lyricism and thematic unity, is widely regarded as one of the greatest symphonies of the Austro-German tradition.

The San Jose Youth Symphony (SJYS) is one of the oldest and finest youth orchestras on the West Coast of the U.S. Founded over six decades ago as part of the former San Jose Symphony, SJYS has a rich tradition of musical performance and education. We strive to make each performance for the community, uplifting, spirited and exciting.
