Description
Many of the best-known oratorios are grounded in the Abrahamic traditions. "Patch The Sky" is different. Based on ancient Chinese mythology, this oratorio tells the story of the goddess Nuwa, who saved the world from the destructive forces of water, fire and wild beasts by repairing the pillars of heaven. An-Lun Huang--former resident composer with the Central Opera in Beijing--composed the piece. Rui Zhang, who studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, will conduct Symphony Silicon Valley in this world premiere performance of "Patch The Sky." The Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale will join the production under direction from Wenbo Deng.
