Description
Come PARTY HARD(ing) with NDDivis and the Harding Hive Campaign kick-off for a night of learning, doing, community building, and enjoying at the Westerfeld Mansion. $20 gets you in the door (which is an experience in itself), with a variety show of engaging entertainment and three $3 tokens to spend on food, drink, activities and design.LEARN HISTORY/MAKE HISTORY: In 2005 and then again in 2008, thousands of Divisadero neighbors invested their time, energy, creativity, and resources to save the historic Harding Theater at 616 Divisadero from being demolished and turned into condos. While it's important to say no to development that threatens what we love about our community/culture/environment, it's so much more fruitful and satisfying to say yes to development that benefits the vibrant and creative San Francisco we love. Now is our chance to support inclusive, enriching, and sustainable on the Divisadero Corridor by taking part in the Harding Hive Campaign.
Neighbors Developing Divisadero, a nonprofit public benefit corporation (fiscally sponsored by Booker T. Washington Community Service Center), has crafted a community-driven vision and strategy to purchase the Harding Theater and revitalize it as the Harding Hive, a multi-use incubator and showcase venue for creativity, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, collaboration, and sustainability. July 1st marks the kick-off for the Harding Hive Campaign with a new website (nddivis.org), crowdfunding opportunities, and our first PARTY HARD(ing) event at the amazing Westerfeld Mansion.
Get a sneak peak of the type of programming that we’d like to offer at the Harding Hive by coming to our PARTY HARD(ing) event at the Westerfeld on July 1st. Our line-up includes:
Emerging food entrepreneurs (MamakSF & Localist)
Community-minded musicians (Locaphonic)
Up and coming comediennes (Kollin Holtz of Wireless Indiscretion)
Local design (San Franspycho, A Second Story, & Urban Matters Design)
DJ set paying homage to different eras of the Harding’s past
Edutainment (ten minute engaging talks on urban sustainability and entrepreneurship)
Barbers and stylists from Divisadero barbershops/salons
Much gratitude to Jim Siegel (owner/resident of the Westerfeld) and Kelly Edwards (Westerfeld resident and event promoter) whose generosity has made this event possible.
