Description
A look at the epic story of the Irish in Latin America, the subject of Irish writer Tim Fanning’s recent book.In the early 1800s, thousands of volunteers left Ireland to join the fight for South American independence, lured by the promise of fortune and the opportunity to take a stand against colonialism. They joined the ranks of the Liberator, Símon Bolívar, and became instrumental in helping oust the Spanish from Colombia, Panama, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. Live music.
