Description

Paint handing is the embodiment of the painter's sensory experience and determines the actual observable physical energy in the painting. This workshop explores the visible trace of the hand in the artwork and its expressive potential. Understanding the free and authoritative use of brush and painting knife, working wet into wet, relationships between subtractive paint application and impasto, maintaining clean color in direct painting, and individualistic brushwork are investigated. Working from both the imagination and from subject matter allow the participants to distinguish the relationship between the observed and the inspired in brushwork. Different mediums will be discussed and we will work in different formats.
