Description
The San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art located in Downtown San Jose showcases various pieces of art and exhibitions. The Reckewell’s Double Catenary installation is part of the Institute's "On the Road" series of exhibitions.Sabine Reckewell's large-scale three-dimensional drawings inspired by minimalist and conceptual art of the 1960s and '70s and her personal background in design and fiber art, are created with ordinary tools such as hammers, pushpins, ribbon and measuring tape. Through repetition, Reckewell achieves dizzying degrees of density and transparency that ebb and flow as the viewer interacts with the piece.
The On The Road exhibit is a satellite exhibitions program that seeks to expand the ICA's footprint throughout the Bay Area and further its mission to support the region's contemporary art community.
