Description
The Hedley Club at the Hotel De Anza welcomes Octobop to its stage for a night of live jazz music. Octobop sticks primarily to playing traditional West Coast Jazz, incorporating many of the stylistic traits associated with this form, such as new ideas, harmonies, ensemble playing and great improvisation. Their sound is strongly influenced by the likes of Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker, Shorty Rogers, Bud Shank, Bob Cooper, Dave Pell, Jimmy Guiffre and Howard Rumsey, among others. Octobop has performed at multiple festivals and events in California, including the popular San Jose Jazz Fest.
