Description
NEVER KNOWS [live](Untitled & After / Break Up)
Haçeteria is going to fast forward to the blackened but exhilarating world of Never Knows (aka Marc Kate), founder of the cult experimental electronic label Untitled & After (it wants to be the 4AD of techno). With more than a decade of previous electronic experience under his belt, Never Knows is Kates newest techno project, which mixes compelling rhythms with deep, moody and atmospheric sounds.
Theres something beautifully pure about techno. Too pure. That pristine, precise sound needs to be undermined, soiled and sullied. Electronic dance music usually relates a narrative that is predictably written. The only way I see out of this trap is to be more of a mediator between the machines as they each take turns telling their own side of the story: sometimes harmonious, sometimes revelatory, often conflicted. Thats Marc Kate (a.k.a. Silencefiction, a.k.a.Husband), one of SFs more vital underground fixtures, whose latest, kind of spooky incarnation as Never Knows channels a tasty bank of live equipment as it folds old-school goth atmospheres into sweeping techscapes. - Marke Beishke, SFBG.

About Haçeteria:
Haçeteria is a fog and laser fueled monthly dance night organized by DJs Tristes Tropiques, Nihar, Jason P, and Smac, who play the steamiest electronic dance music vinyl slabs, mostly from the era spanning 1986-1993, including Chicago House, Acid, Detroit Techno, Classic Rave, New Beat, Electronic Body Music, Early Trance, Hip-House and more. Club Haçeteria is also dedicated to highlighting a diverse array of live electronic dance musicians that are breaking new ground while moving bodies on the dance floor. Haçeteria takes place every first Saturday at the Deco Lounge at Larkin and Turk.
