San Jose crew Ocalaholics drop "The Intervention Mixtape" this week, with a show at Fahrenheit. What the group--Marvelous, Highly Authentic, J.Rod and Fluid--have leaked so far suggests the mixtape combines their realist raps with a surprisingly bright sound. They're still writing street stories of struggle, as on last fall's stay-strong anthem "Same Song," but "Da Come Up" pops with irresistible percussion and "Fluid Flow" soars.
