Mark Wolfe Contemporary Art is pleased to present Nothing Goes Away, an exhibition of new works by Bay Area painter Todd Lanam, in his first solo exhibition at the Gallery.
With a background in traditional landscape painting, Lanam seeks new ways of bringing meaning and relevance to the genre. Using layers of shifting perspective, Lanam toys with the malleability of memory and experience; what is actually seen and experienced vs. what is remembered in the mind’s eye.
Lanam received his BFA from the California College of the Arts and MFA from San Francisco State University. He has exhibited at numerous galleries throughout Northern California .
Exhibiting concurrently in the Gallery Ell will be Nocturnes, a series of paintings by Brad Woodfin. Born in Marblehead, Massachusetts in 1970, Woodfin headed west in 1991, eventually studying printmaking and painting at The Evergreen State College. He currently resides in Montréal.
