What is the connection between nature, technology, and female identity? Nine: Cycles of Creation, a women's art collective is hosting a mixed media exhibit titled, "Nine: Cycles of Creation." With this collection of artworks, the nine members explore female identity and its relation to creative processes found in nature as well as technology.
The “Nine” Collective started with a group of women who originally met in Santa Cruz, the cultural and literal crossroads between Monterey Bay and Silicon Valley, with the intention of exploring together the cyclical and "feminine" aspects of creativity.
The September 14th reception will feature performances by local women songwriters, poets, and musicians whose work intersects the same concepts as the exhibit.
