Touring New Yorker Daryl Shawn joins Bay Area singer-songwriter Ziva Hadar for a night of original unplugged music at Bazaar Cafe. Expect thoughtful lyrics and masterful playing from these two in a free performance.An alumnus of Boston's esteemed Berklee College of Music who went on to develop his craft during five years in Oaxaca, Mexico, Shawn combines his taste for unusual chords with the guitar-thumping techniques of flamenco and rhythms culled from African music to create an eclectic mix fueled by a healthy appetite for rocking out (and sometimes, blissing out). Shawn complements his impressive guitar skills with his clear, precise voice and poetic lyrics - think a mix of Rodrigo y Gabriela and Paul Simon, with a touch of Jack White.
Shawn will be trading sets with Israel-born Bay Area powerhouse Ziva Hadar, who weds a stunningly flexible voice to her own quirky but heartfelt tunes.
