Hitting iTunes Tuesday, the album climbed the albums chart and peaked at No. 4, hurdling over St. Vincent, Lil Wayne and Foster The People its way up.
“Can't believe #SomethingLikeThis is still in the top 5! This is unreal, and you all are the best,” Rector tweeted yesterday afternoon.
Since the release, this Brite artist and Nashville native has captured the attention of people across the country. From California to Ohio, people are applauding Rector’s album, calling it “incredible” and “delightful.”
“Ben Rector is a musical genius,” enthuses one review on iTunes. “He somehow continues to put new and original music out there that puts you in a good mood. What a studly album from start to finish. Simply brilliant.”
And the train doesn’t stop there. This artist who details the important of social media in one of his own blog videos has earned a following of more than 25,000 Facebook fans and 12,000 Twitter followers. And the numbers keep growing.
Even in light of his out-of-nowhere success, Rector isn’t pausing to count his chickens. He already has tour dates lined up until the end of November, playing for the Good Time Tour, as well as shows with the band Needtobreathe, who are currently on the road with Taylor Swift.
“I really enjoy writing songs, and so far there have been a few people who've enjoyed listening to them,” Rector wrote in his Facebook bio. “I hope to keep both sides of that going.”
