Natural Lotion Making Class

Description

Many store-bought lotions are laden with chemicals and alcohol, which dry out your skin and make you have to use more. However, natural lotion is made with 100% natural oils, butters & other skin-nourishing ingredients; there are no chemicals and nothing that will dry out your skin, so you only need to use a small amount to fully moisturize your skin. In this class, informational charts are provided so that you can customize your lotion with the ingredients that work best for your skin type (e.g. jojoba oil for sensitive skin, goat's milk for dry/damaged skin, tea tree essential oil for acne-prone skin). We'll discuss the different types of lotions; the materials and ingredients needed and where to get them; the benefits of various ingredients so you can choose what is best for your skin; and then you'll make a creamy lotion similar in consistency to store-bought lotions but with no harmful ingredients. You'll go home with 6 fl oz of lotion in a pump container and a thorough, detailed instructional handout, including recipes, ingredients, materials/equipment & suppliers. Everything is provided in the class, as well as some snacks, coffee & tea.
