Natalie John and Maya Kronfeld: Jazz voice meets soulful harmonies.New York-based vocalist and composer Natalie John teams up with Bay Area pianist Maya Kronfeld in this rare and special collaborative effort, presenting original jazz music that is harmonically soaring and rhythmically anchored. Drawing from shared influences in both soul music and singer-songwriter traditions, Maya and Natalie find common ground in their personally expressive and widely dynamic compositions. Feel-driven pianist and keyboardist Maya Kronfeld is an active member of the Bay Area jazz, soul and gospel music communities with artists like Valerie Troutt, Zoe Ellis and Destani Wolf. She has toured with Van Hunt and the Memorials, and appeared recently at the Aarhus International Jazz Festival in Denmark. She plays weekly at Independent Community Church in Richmond. Natalie John is native to the Bay Area and now resides in New York City, where she sings and composes for an array of projects in the jazz, rock and pop music scenes. She has performed with the Bjorkestra, Carnatic jazz guitarist Prasanna, and jazz composer/bassist Joshua Davis.
