Description
Pro Arts presents MUTATION, the 2012 Selection of Pro Arts’ Annual Exhibition Call. The exhibition features newly commissioned works as part of Pro Arts’ New Works Series supported by the National Endowment for the Arts and The Andy Warhol Foundation, and is curated in collaboration by Pro Arts and artist/curator JOEMUR.Featured artists include Adam5100, C.B. Canga, Jessica Jenkins, JOEMUR, Phil Long, Matt136, Clay Murdach, Nobody/Sumbody, Super Ugly, Ben Walker and Cody Williams. The exhibition is on view February 28 - March 30, 2012 at Pro Arts' gallery in downtown Oakland. An Artists' Reception is scheduled on Friday, March 2, 6 - 8 pm.
MUTATION is a reflection on the wax and wane of art and the East Bay, Pro Arts and Oakland; change that is palpable. This exhibit is born of a spirit to acknowledge, embrace, and regurgitate the feelings of unease brought on by mutation surrounding us - includes drawing, painting, installation, sculpture and a site-specific mural.
