Limited to 7 people.
Humor and self-expression highly encouraged.

MUSSAR (“INSTRUCTION”) is an ethical/spiritual tradition rooted in Eastern European Jewry. Without dogma or creed, Mussar speaks to people from many religious or non-religious backgrounds and offers contemplative practices to encourage awareness and resolve or discard old habits.

Mussar is built on a philosophy that a person’s soul has certain characteristics which are useful for exploring our relationships with others and nature, as well as increasing compassion and self-understanding. With meditation, sensory exercises, art, music, poetry, and engagement with nature we will work to:
* recognize and articulate our unique soul traits
* bring knowledge of soul traits into deepening relationships with others and nature
* to become better friends and better stewards of the Earth
* express soul traits in creative work.
* foster good will.

People from all religious or spiritual backgrounds are welcome. There is no proselytizing involved; we just use the practical teachings and approach of Mussar to create tools for our lives.

Meeting in an East Bay Home.
