Description
In celebration of John Cage's 100th birthday, Dr. Teresa McCollough with guest artists Michael Boyd, Alex Christie, Sally Mitchell and Bruno Ruviaro will be performing works by John Cage. Including Living Room Music, The Suite for Toy Piano and other landmark pieces. Also on the program will be works by Olivier Messiaen, Claude DeBussy and John Adams' Hallelujah Junction, performed with pianist Michael Boyd.OTHER "MUSICAL MAVERICKS: JOHN CAGE" EVENTS:
Admission is free for the following four events! No tickets are required.
Wednesday, October 24 at 12 pm in Music Recital Hall - John Cage will be featured in this one-hour Music@Noon performance.
Thursday, October 25 at 1:45 pm in Music Recital Hall - Special guest lecture: Cage and Cunningham: The Dance of Music by Roger Copeland, Professor of Theatre and Dance, Oberlin College.
Thursday, October 25 at 5:30 pm in Music Recital Hall - This Rush Hour concert features Cage's Musicircus.
Friday, October 26 at 5:30 pm in Dance Studio A - A Rush Hour collaboration with the Music and Dance Departments.
