Description

In this hands-on workshop, discover the wonderful world beneath your feet. Gain an understanding of mushrooms and their place in the world. Learn the basics of low-tech mushroom cultivation and how to apply what you learn in your backyard or apartment. All materials are provided. Light physical activity is likely.

Instructor Bio:
Ken Litchfield is a naturalist who lives and works on a farm. He has a varied background that includes biology, botany, illustration, teaching, lapidary and photography. Ken is the Cultivation Chair for the Mycological Society of San Francisco.

David Gardella is the JCCSF's Urban Agriculture Specialist. When not tending to the garden, David can be found teaching a variety of art courses throughout the Bay Area with students ranging in age from 2 to 86. He is also the President of the Mycological Society of San Francisco and has been on the governing council since 2009.
