Description
Ian Hill's collection provides an American’s surreal perspective on the American family and its traditions. Hill says, “Like mothers milk, our traditions are fed to us. Like antibodies are passed on so are the ideas from the generation before us.” Using the family as the lens to examine the moments leading up to present day pop culture, Hill guides us through the surreal dream of the American experience.Geometric remnants of neon quilt patterning contrast against a muted palette, setting the stage for a psychedelic array of subject matter. Hill's work pulls inspiration from forgotten photos, science fiction, and memories.
The show runs from January 1- January 31, 2009.
Opening Reception will be held Friday, January 2 from 8pm- midnight.
