WHAT: The San Francisco CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Program invites the public to help celebrate their annual fundraising event Hot October Nights: Moon over Morocco on Thursday October 18, at Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco.

WHAT: An enticing evening of exotic drinks, Moroccan food, silent and live auctions, a special birdcage raffle of diamond earrings and more fun than you can imagine. Come join us and raise funds to support the vulnerable and invisible youth that are in foster care in San Francisco.

ABOUT CASA: CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a national, nonprofit organization that focuses on volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children. The first CASA program originated in Seattle, Washington, in 1977 and was so successful that judges across the country began utilizing citizen advocates. Today, CASA has grown to a network of more than 75,000 CASA and guardian ad litem (GAL) volunteers serving 240,000 abused and neglected children nationwide.

The San Francisco CASA Program is 501(c) (3) a community-based, organization founded in 1991 with its first graduating class of 11 volunteer advocates. It is one of more than 900 independent CASA programs throughout the United States. SFCASA operates in compliance with National CASA Association Program Standards, California Rule of Court 5.655 and local rules of court, and is a co- signatory of Memoranda of Understanding with the San Francisco Unified Family Court and Human Services Agency. SFCASA is the only agency in San Francisco that provides advocacy for foster children in the courtroom. SFCASA serves 330 of the 1,000 youth in foster care in the city each year.
