Description

Beginning in late September, hundreds of birders converge on the Watsonville-Elkhorn area for the Monterey Bay Birding Festival.

The Elkhorn Slough Estuarine Reserve is a Globally Important Bird Area and a prime location for sighting rare birds like the endangered snowy plover and the rebounding peregrine falcon.
