In celebration of their 10th anniversary, the Montclair Women’s Big Band welcomes vocalist Vicki Randle for their Yoshi's San Francisco debut. In addition to her 14 years as the lead vocalist/percussionist in the Tonight Show band, Randle is one of Oakland's most accomplished musicians, having performed and/or recorded with Wayne Shorter, George Benson, Aretha Franklin, and Herbie Hancock. The powerhouse big band has performed for the Grammys, the San Francisco Jazz Festival, and will headline the Mary Lou Williams Jazz Festival at the Kennedy Center this May. Attracting the attention of the iconic Marian McPartland, Director Seeling with bandmates Jean Fineberg and Allison Miller were recently featured on her NPR show Piano Jazz. “The sight of 17 women swinging is a powerful thing… A formidable East Bay jazz ensemble” (Andrew Gilbert, San Francisco Chronicle).
