I have a suspicion that Mon Pubis secretly wants to be the Melvins. The only problem is they just can't tear themselves away from their undying love affair with folk and traditional blues. The result is like trance-rock, or dare I say folk-sludge? None of that fits, cause musically it's all over the map. They've got sythny parts, bluesy songs and heavy metal sections, yet despite all the different music they're playing, every song has a very similar sound, which is to say it all feels the same—trippy. The music swirls around you—acoustic, metal, electronic—repeating and finding strange groove that can only be described as "trance."
