Description
Stanford’s Pan-Asian Festival kicks off with the man known as the Iranian Bob Dylan. I know what you’re thinking, but yes, every country must have it’s own Dylan. Look, we all know Santa can’t really get presents to every kid in the world in a single night, right? That’s why he has all those “helpers” at department stores across America. Same with Dylan. And Mohsen Namjoo smells better! Really, though, Namjoo incorporates Persian spiritual traditions and cultural reference points into his music, and at this show he’ll be joined by several of his fellow ex-pats from around the Bay Area. He’ll also drop by early (at 7pm) to discuss the Iranian music scene since the Revolution (no, not Prince’s band, fool). - Steve Palopoli sanjose.com
