Description

In this high-energy workshop, students will break the boundaries by prioritizing abstraction and intuitive paint application. With a focus on major concepts including: composition, figure-ground relationship, and process, students will have access to live feedback from the instructor as concepts are being reinforced through demonstrations and group discussion. This workshop is open to students of all skill levels.

Michael Azgour is an actively exhibiting artist, whose work addresses concepts related to images in contemporary culture. His paintings combine evocative expressive representation with geometric abstraction, reflecting upon memory, technology, and the human condition. Azgourā€™s award-winning paintings have been exhibited in galleries and museums in the United States and Europe. Michael teaches drawing and painting courses at Stanford University.

Students are responsible for providing their own materials. A materials list will be provided upon registration.
