Description

Join San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) and the Consulate General of Mexico in San Francisco for a two-day symposium and mural tour exploring the legacy of the Mexican mural movement in contemporary art and activism.

Taking place at SFAI's 800 Chestnut Street campus—home to a renowned Diego Rivera mural—the symposium features notable Mexican and American artists, writers, and scholars, including keynote speaker Sandra de la Loza. Hear first-hand their insights and research on Riveras construction of visual identities, the representation of the human body in today's murals, and more.

The symposium is FREE and open to the public, but space is limited and advanced registration required. You must purchase $50 tickets in advance for the mural tour and lunch.
