Transmedia SF: Meet the MakersTransmedia Producers Present and Discuss their Projects
FREE DRINKS, FOOD, NETWORKING AND DISCUSSIONS WITH WORKING TRANSMEDIA PRODUCERS
Transmedia is a hot word these days and it's being bandied about on all fronts. Hollywood, Madison Avenue and creatives everywhere are exploring what transmedia is and what it promises in the future. At this inaugural event of the Transmedia SF group, we'll seek to define transmedia both in academic terms but also by presenting people who are out there creating and distributing transmedia productions and projects.
Schedule:
6:00 pm – Doors Open for Drinks, Demos and Networking
6:30 pm –Overview of Transmedia SF and Definitions of Transmedia
- Maya Zuckerman, Co-Founder of Transmedia SF and Transmedia Producer
6:45 - 7:45 pm – Panel Discussion
Join our panelists as they present their transmedia projects, discuss their own experiences in the transmedia industry and share what they see as the best strategies and opportunities moving forward.
- Hope Hutman, Founder, Telefon Projekt
Hope is President and Co-Founder of Telefon Projekt whose technology allows content creators to produce experiences in which conversations – actual spoken dialog or text exchanges – between real people and virtual or fictional characters impact the flow of a narrative. The conversations can be integrated with any media that can delivered over the internet – video, animation, social media, etc – allowing what a person says to control what’s seen on screen.
Prior to founding Telefon Projekt Hope was Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships at Ask Jeeves, where she managed relationships between the search provider and strategic content partners, coordinated expansion and renewal of services, and guaranteed that key performance metrics were achieved. Hope also worked as a producer for the Discovery Channel, developing sponsors and managing production for several television series.
- Justin Oliphant, VFX Artist and Transmedia Producer of the Zoetic Labs Project
Justin was steeped in a media stew with both parents award-winning producers in the industry, so it’s no wonder that he started his first production – a television show – while still in high school. This was only the beginning of a long career of creating film, TV, theater and now transmedia projects and productions.
While keeping a “day-job” at places like ImageMovers Digital, a motion capture animation studio backed by Disney and now Atomic Fiction, visual effects studio, he’s managed to continue to make independent films and launch transmedia productions.
Following the success of his six month long “Friend of a Friend Project,” Justin began working on his recently launched project Zoetic Labs, in which 3 robots have been sent out into the world to document and report back on the best things in human life.
7:45pm – 60 Second Soap Box and Networking
This is your time and your platform to share with the community what you are working on, if you are hiring or looking for collaborators, if you're looking for work or hosting an event. Anything goes - as long as it's transmedia related ;-)
Following our community segment, we'll continue to network until the doors close at 9:00pm
