SFMOMA Artists Gallery presents “Kimber Lite and the Pipes” an installation by Maximillian Lawrence from December 19 through January 30, 2010.

Lawrence integrates materials of mass consumption to recreate American pop icons. Through the use of acrylic nails, synthetic hair, beading, wire, and electrical components, Lawrence portrays society’s absorption with materialism and celebrities as intangible entities.

The SFMOMA Artists Gallery located at Fort Mason Center organizes the Windows Program. It uses the SFMOMA Garage’s street-level windows located at 150 Natoma and 147 Minna Street (Between Third and New Montgomery Sts.) to showcase artwork. The program, organized by Renée de Cossio of the Artists Gallery, invites some of the areas’ most ambitious artists to transform these everyday spaces into compelling exhibitions that passersby can view round the clock.
Lawrence’s installation will be up from December 19 – January 30, 2010 and can be seen from the street 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

Representing Northern California artists, the SFMOMA Artists Gallery offers a diverse selection of original artwork for sale and rent.

Located on the top floor of the Artists Gallery, the loft gallery is a new exhibition space devoted to artworks not typically found in our rental inventory, such as installations, unframed works on paper, and wall and floor sculptures. Similar to a "project room," this space welcomes exploration and experimentation.
The SFMOMA Artists Gallery is located in Building A at Fort Mason Center. Gallery hours are 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Admission to gallery exhibitions is free of charge.
