Smith Co., Steve Deutsch Woodwinds, and Trinity Chamber Concerts.Robert Stallman holds a distinctive place among the world's most masterful flutists. The Stallman difference has intrigued classical music lovers ever since Jean-Pierre Rampal judged his protegé to be “one of the most gifted musicians I have ever encountered.” According to The London Times, “Stallman is no ordinary virtuoso of the flute, though virtuoso he emphatically is. He dazzles because of his penetrating artistry.” This artistry distinguishes all facets of his career as soloist, chamber musician, recording artist, master teacher and editor/arranger. Stallman’s schedule has included recitals and chamber music concerts in venues around the world from New York’s Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall to London’s Wigmore Hall, Vienna’s Konzerthaus and Tokyo’s Suntory Hall; invitations to international festivals such as Mostly Mozart (New York), Musique à Cimiez (France), Cesky Krumlov (Czech Republic), and Kuhmo (Finland); solo performances with the American Symphony, Strings of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic and other orchestras, as well as collaborations with such artists as Richard Goode, John Williams, Placido Domingo, and Jean-Pierre Rampal.
After releasing fifteen, esteemed recordings for ASV, VAI, Arco Diva, Biddulph, MHS, CBS/Sony and other classical labels, Stallman founded the Bogner’s Café label, named for a favorite Viennese hangout of Mozart and Schubert. Stallman’s recordings for Bogner’s Café have been generating enthusiasm for his fresh approach to old-world chamber music. They have been heard on more than 200 classical stations across the nation, including on Public Radio’s “Performance Today” and “Weekend Edition”.
