Description
East West Wing Chun and Quickly present Martial Arts for St. Jude, on Saturday, August 8th, 2008, to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, the premier center for the research and treatment of childhood cancer and other deadly diseases. Danny Thomas, founder of Martial Arts for St. Jude, has helped spur community-driven fund-raisers for the hospital through events like the Chi-Sao-a-thon, sponsored by the newly opened Quickly.This volunteer-based event, hosted by East West Wing Chun, will feature a Chi-Sao-a-thon, or “sticky hands” marathon, (“sticky hands” being the signature technique of Wing Chun Kung Fu), and demonstrations of Filipino Martial Arts and Korean Martial Arts.
T-shirts will also be sold and half of the proceeds will be donated to St. Jude’s. The event is free and open to the public, and people are encouraged to bring their families and friends to Quickly to watch some exciting displays of Martial Arts, while supporting the cause.
