Description
As an ode to the now-defunct San Jose music venue (and dive bar) Marsugi's, a host of bands that regularly took the stage there during its heyday will re-convene tonight at the Blank Club. The Spit Muffins, 187 Calm, Oilfish, Mute Angst Envy, the Guttersluts and Kerplunk will reunite for a two-night nostalgia-bash that recalls the days of a flourishing South Bay DIY punk scene. Says Oilfish guitarist Herbie Gray: "(Marsugi's) was the cornerstone of the music scene, the real learning ground for me and probably a lot of other bands."
