Miss Pearl’s Jam House is letting the good times roll at Oakland’s Jack London Square with its first annual Mardi Gras Festival February 12-16! Get your beads on and head to Miss Pearl’s for five days of Cajun-inspired revelry capped off with a Fat Tuesday fete you won’t soon forget. Miss Pearl’s new chef, Peter Jackson, has cooked with the likes of celebrated New Orleans chef John Besh and has a culinary obsession with gumbo that will be tested at Gumbostravaganza. Savor $5 Hurricanes, $4 jello shots, housemade King’s Cake, beignets, and a New Orleans trip giveaway at Miss Pearl’s Fat Tuesday Fete Noir. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Friday, February 12th
Catch celebrity chef Joey Altman on guitar when his Back Burner Blues Band opens the Mardi Gras festivities!

Saturday, February 13th
Gumbostravaganza
An afternoon celebrating one of Louisiana’s most iconic dishes…gumbo. A roster of the East Bay best chefs will gather on Miss Pearl’s patio in Jack London Square on Saturday, February 13th from 1:00-4:00 p.m. for a gumbo cook off like no other.

Entry is free and attendees enjoy complimentary gumbo samples.

Chefs: Peter Jackson, Miss Pearl’s Jam House (Oakland); Dean Dupuis of Pican (Oakland); Brian Hill of Taste of Joy Barbecue(Oakland); Eddie Blyden of Henry’s (Berkeley); Ross Kaplan of Bocanova (Oakland); Frank Fate of Fate’s Catering (Hayward); Brandon Dubea of Angelines (Berkeley).

Sunday, February 14th
Head to Miss Pearl’s for a New Orleans Style Valentine’s Dinner (prix fixe and regular menu available). Shared appetizer, shared dessert, and two entrees for $60 per person (not including tax and gratuity).

Monday, February 15th (Lundi Gras)
Mardi Gras Happy Hour All Day Long (President’s Day). $5 Hurricanes all day starting at 7:00 a.m. through closing at 10:30 p.m.

Tuesday, February 16th
Fat Tuesday Fete Noir
Fat Tuesday featuring live local Zydeco and Samba bands, $5 Hurricanes all night, and a chance to win a trip to New Orleans just for joining us for Fat Tuesday festivities!

7:00 p.m. – Midnight
Live Music:7:00–8:00 p.m. Samba from Energia do Samba; 8:00 p.m. - Midnight Zydeco and Blues from the Craig Caffal Band
New Orleans Giveaway including free two-night stay at the International House Hotel, guided kitchen tour of New Orleans restaurants, and an itinerary of dining and entertainment will be awarded to one lucky attendee!
