Bandleader, composer, educator and bassist Marcus Shelby returns to Yerba Buena Gardens, this time with his septet, the Hot 7, a tightly knit ensemble playing classic American jazz. The Hot 7 features vocalist Kenny Washington, Rob Barics on clarinet, Mike Rinta on trombone, Matt Clark on piano) Howard Wiley on drums, Mike Olmos on trumpet and Marcus Shelby on bass.The Yerba Buena Gardens Festival presents over 90 free events including music, theater, circus, dance, poetry and children’s programs with artists from Africa, Colombia, Japan, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Spain, the Philippines, Sweden, China, Venezuela and the Bay Area. Yerba Buena Gardens is located between Mission Street and Howard Street and 3rd and 4th Streets in downtown San Francisco.
