Description

Alrie Middlebrook presents a case study workshop of five gardens: Managing native gardens for a sustainable future.

We all love a new native garden. But after 5 years, do we still love it? Alrie Middlebrook shows five gardens that are maturing and how to keep them looking fresh. Come hear about what you can do in your garden to maintain it and keep it lovely year after year.

Alrie Middlebrook has been designing native gardens for 20 years and maintaining many of those gardens over the years. As she leads us through the five gardens, she’ll explain how they have been maintained for optimum beauty over time.

Bring your questions:

When and how do you cut plants back?

How do you prune a Ray Hartman ceanothus tree?

How do you determine when water is needed?

Come and learn with us!

The Workshop fee is $30 non-members /$25 CNGF members. Are you a student? Talk with Alrie about attending in exchange for work in the garden! Pay with cash or check at the event. Student? Call to trade some garden time for attendance. Free parking is on side streets at St. Leo The Great School around the corner on Garland Street and also at The Bread Basket/Health Trust on Garland.
