Description
Please join the Class of 2012 in bringing our Senior Show called Makeshift 2012 to the city of San José. We will turn Works San José into one inspiring gallery that engages visitors and challenges the preconceptions of graphic design in addition to the display of original artwork from the twenty–two designers of our class. Our gallery show will be up and running for ten days, with opening night coinciding with December’s South 1st Fridays. Based on precedent numbers of alumni shows, foot traffic has ranged from anywhere between 400–600 people on opening nights and 1,700–2,000 people through the entire duration of the show. The Graphic Design Program at SJSU is considered one of the most expansive and diverse design programs in the Western United States. Aspiring undergraduates who have met rigorous prerequisites are exposed to comprehensive and current design theory and practice in classes taught by top design professionals, many of whom still have professional presences in the Silicon Valley and greater San Francisco Bay Areas. San José State University’s Design Department as a whole serves as the preeminent regional center for bleeding-edge design innovation and creativity; graduates from the program continually benefit their professional and local communities through their unique blend of strong pedagogical design preparation and on-the-field experience.
