Make Your Own: RC Car

Description

Building a remote-controlled car and seeing it work is one of the most exciting technology experiences your young scientist or engineer can have. These are sophisticated precision models with working suspensions, steering, gearboxes and impressive top speeds!

Kids will develop an understanding of how cars work in terms of gears and steering, and how electric cars work with respect to motors and controllers (perhaps the way of the future for all cars). In process, we’ll have mini-lessons about the different car subsystems. Kids will also practice manual dexterity as they assemble the precision components.

By the end of the course, kids will have assembled, tuned and tested a high-performance R/C car to take home.

About Tamiya R/C Car Kits: These kits are made by a major japanese model company, known for its quality and realistic details. Unlike traditional glue-together plastic models, these cars are made of high-impact plastic and metal parts, and assembled with metal screws. The package we provide for kids to take home also includes all the radio equipment (normally sold separately), battery and charger, and a screwdriver.
