Description
NO TICKETS OR RESERVATIONS NEEDED! Bring your family, friends, a blanket and a picnic to enjoy professional theater in a beautiful park setting! For our 31st season, Kenneth Kelleher returns to direct Macbeth. Generally regarded as one of the Bard’s major tragedies (along with Hamlet, Othello, and King Lear), this is the first time SF Shakes has produced it for Free Shakespeare in the Park. Macbeth is memorable for its suspenseful plot and thrilling scenes of witchcraft and combat. Audiences will recognize Macbeth’s famous soliloquies, including “Is this a dagger which I see before me?” and “Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow”, as well as the witches’ rhymes “Double, double, toil and trouble; fire burn and cauldron bubble.”
30 minutes prior to most performances, join us for 'Witchipedia', our Green Show on the lawn. Our three witches will give you a brief (15-minute) orientation on the world of Macbeth!
