Description
A heartfelt line-up of readers for Post-Valentines Fun.Dean Rader has published widely in the fields of poetry, American Indian studies, and popular culture. His debut collection of poems, Work & Days, won the 2010 T. S Elliott Poetry Prize, judged by Claudia Keelan. His newest scholarly book, Engaged Resistance: American Indian Art, Literature, and Film from Alcatraz to the NMAI was published in April 2011. He writes reviews and a column for the San Francisco Chronicle and is a professor at the University of San Francisco.
Katy Chatel is inspired by literacy. She’s a writer in residence at Oakland School of the Arts and in the MFA program at Goddard. She’s working on a novel and several manuscripts of poetry. Her work is published in Milvia Street and Tea Party magazine in Oakland.
Lee Herrick is the author of This Many Miles from Desire and is the editor of New Truths: Writing in the 21st Century by Korean Adoptees, and his poems have been published in ZYZZYVA, Haight Ashbury Literary Journal, Berkeley Poetry Review, Hawaii Pacific Review, and others, including anthologies such as Seeds from a Silent Tree: Writings by Korean Adoptees, Hurricane Blues: Poems About Katrina and Rita, and Highway 99: A Literary Journey Through California's Great Central Valley. He is the founding editor of the literary magazine In the Grove and teaches at Fresno City College.
Linda King’s old eyes view the world in black and white, sometimes in the techno-color of vibrant cyber punk. She is a poet, performance artist, singer and songwriter, originally from Ohio. She’s finishing an MFA in Creative Writing at Mills. Her work appears in Milvia Street and Shampoo.
Antonio G. Fernandez was born in San Francisco and raised in Wyoming. He received a B.A. in English from San Diego State and his M.A. in Creative Writing from San Francisco State. His poetry can be found in Redlitmag V.2 – San Diego State Univ.’s literary journal, 14 Hills Vol. 13.2, MergePoetry Journal, and Matrices. He dedicates all his work to his son Felipe. He lived in Berkeley until his very recent migration to Los Angeles.
