Description
Lynn Criswell’s work is about making sense of the past, reconciling it with the present. Her paintings with hammered sheet lead focus on gender stereotyping and childhood. Criswell’s work gives pause, urging one to wonder that adults do not see. This is Criswell’s second solo show with LIMN Gallery.Jacobs believes art can and does transform society. Her work grows out of the connection she makes between her personal experiences and her concern for the world we live in. Her feminist outlook, motherhood, and her strong desire for social justice guide her artistic vision. By exposing facts and juxtaposing images, Jacobs generates parallels and analogies that foster a dialog that can grow and deepen the more one stays with the work. Jacobs’ books, objects and wall pieces will be exhibited for her first solo show with LIMN Gallery.
