Description
Cain Schulte Contemporary Art is pleased to announce Luca Antonucci's first show with the gallery, which will feature large blank embossments that explore the texture of Hubble Deep Space Images. The embossments strip away the empirical data from images of significant astronomical events so that we are left with our own romantic view of space, instead of any semblance of the "real" universe.Luca Antonucci is a practicing artist and co-founder of Colpa Press. He received his MFA from San Francisco Art Institute in 2010 and is currently in residency at the Kala Art Institute for Printmaking. Luca lives and works in San Francisco, CA. He has an upcoming show, “The Vast and The Inconspicuous” with the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery in January 2012 as well as a L.A.S.E.R lecture series on First Light, Stanford University in February 2012. He has also shown work at Wire and Nail Gallery in San Francisco, Conveyor Arts in New Jersey, the Culturia Art Institute in Berlin, and The Reading Room in Berlin.
