This show features 25 of her 118 Introversion Boxes made of assembled artifacts and personal collections of relics from around the world.Lisa Mei Ling Fong has been in major transition. Having spent the last two years moving from Seattle to New York City to Vermont back to New York City again to San Francisco to Berkeley and finally back to San Francisco. “I have changed cities as many times as I have changed careers and the reflections of what I have been going through is expressed in my Introversion Boxes.” When looking at Lisa Mei Ling Fong’s signature Introversion Boxes, the first question that comes to mind is where did she acquire such beautiful gothic, Edwardian objects. They speak personally, as if made for some long lost friend or lover. Preserved in an antique box of memories and artifacts from her world travels, each work of art is a microcosm of the macrocosm of nature.
