Led by timbalero Louie Romero, Mazacote is a swinging old school salsa band, specializing in the golden age New York sound that came about in the 1970’s. Romero’s pedigree is second to none, having played timbales for salsa greats Hector Lavoe, Willie Colón, Celia Cruz, and Rubén Blades.Let’s Go Salsa@Jessie is an open-air salsa dance party in Jessie Square in front of the Contemporary Jewish Museum. The series takes place on the second Thursday of each month from 6:00pm – 7:30pm with salsa dance lessons at the beginning of every program.
