Description

Big Lou’s Polka Casserole is devoted to reminding audiences that polka was once rock 'n roll for Eastern European immigrants and their descendents. They play polkas and waltzes from all over the world, including Poland, Germany, Slovenia, France, Russia and Mexico. Polka Casserole is David Golia (bass), Greg Stephens (trombone), Annelise Zamula (saxophone), Gene Reffken (drums), David Phillips (pedal steel) and Big Lou, the accordion princess, who came early to polka and stayed late. Come early for polka dance lessons!

Let’s Go Dance @ Jessie!
Jessie Square turns into a downtown open-air dance party with live bands playing groovin’ rhythms, from polka to salsa, swing to bhangra, and beyond. Jessie Square is located next to St. Patrick’s Church and the Contemporary Jewish Museum. First Thursdays of the month - come early for the dance lessons, stay late for the dancing!
