Description

The Task Force for Business and Stability Operations (TFBSO) was established in June 2006 to aid in the revitalization of Iraq's economy and in creating jobs for the Iraqi people. In 2010, TFBSO began working in Afghanistan, helping the Afghan government achieve economic sovereignty by increasing access to international markets, improving domestic commerce connectivity and enhancing agribusiness practices. Mr. Brinkley has traveled to Iraq every month since May of 2006 and has traveled to Afghanistan every month since July 2009.

Paul A. Brinkley serves as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense and director of the Task Force for Business and Stability Operations. Prior to joining the Department of Defense, Mr. Brinkley held a number of senior executive roles with technology companies in Silicon Valley. Paul Brinkley joins the Council to discuss the TFBSO’s efforts to spur economic growth in Afghanistan’s challenging security environment.
