Description
Left Bank Brasserie in Larkspur to Host Beaujolais Nouveau CelebrationLeft Bank Brasserie in Larkspur will be celebrating Beaujolais Nouveau, the “first wine” of the harvest season, beginning on Thursday, November 15 and continuing through Saturday, November 17. The restaurant will feature Domaine Dupeuble Beaujolais Nouveau 2012 ($10.25 per glass, $26.00 per ˝ carafe, $36.00 per bottle) along with a $40.00 three-course prix fixe menu, a special selection of Pâtés Maison, and the regular a la carte offerings, all served for both lunch and dinner.
Left Bank Master Sommelier Eric Entrikin comments, “the Domaine Dupeuble vines are between 50 and 100 years old, thus qualify this Beaujolais Nouveau to be a young wine made from old vines. The Domaine has been in existence since 1512.”
Beaujolais Nouveau is a traditional French holiday that celebrates the release of the Beaujolais Nouveau wine. Made from the Gamay grape, this wine is similar to a light bodied Pinot Noir and has fresh, youthful, and fruity flavors that pair perfectly with autumn dishes. By law, it is celebrated on the third Thursday of November every year.
