Description

Re-imagine yourself and pick up essential skills in this changing world with an opportunity to curate your own art show and learn practical ways to put together a grant proposal, find funding, plan, promote, curate and hang an art show in public and gallery settings; you will also learn about public art projects, community programming and public interventions. This four-week workshop for artists and non-artists will be led by Visual Artist, Curator and Educator Julio Cesar Morales and will include presentations by guest artists and curators. This exciting and inventive workshop will culminate with a multi-location exhibit in local cafes, restaurants and businesses.
Julio Cesar Morales uses a range of media including photography, video, and printed and digital media to make conceptual projects that address the productive friction that occurs in trans-cultural territories such as urban Tijuana and San Francisco, and in inherently impure media such as popular music and graphic design.
